Holy cow I can’t believe 2018 is over! Our first Winter Break Songwriting Camp was a blast and I’m so grateful to our families, young songwriters and patrons who provided funding for several partial scholarships. Young Songwriter Summer Camp scheduling is under way. I’ve listed locations and possible dates so if you see something that catches your eye let me know! I’m now also available to bring songwriting programs to Bellingham Public Schools via Allied Arts. This year I will also be focusing HEAVILY on my songwriting with elderly project. I am hoping to write seven more songs based on the narratives of people over the age of 80 in Bellingham and showcasing these songs at a concert in Bellingham on March 23. This will be the launching point for what I hope evolves into a larger scale project that will involve more songwriters and communities outside of Bellingham. My dream is to compile our songs into a recording complete with pictures and narratives of the people whose stories we are curating. Of course funding for musicians, recording, time and traveling expenses is the greatest challenge I am facing at this point and non-profit status seems like the most like course of action.
